E-Sound of Silence

In collaboration with Tanja Krone (One Hit Wonder) and Zeitraumexit, E-Sound of Silence explored the acoustic future of electric mobility. As the auto industry shifts toward e-mobility, a new question emerges: What will our streets sound like when combustion engines fall silent? And more importantly—who gets to shape those new sounds?

This cross-disciplinary project brought together sound artists, performers, and urban thinkers for a one-week workshop that culminated in a live concert-performance on 27 September 2022 at Alte Feuerwache Mannheim. Participants experimented with the idea of cars as instruments, imagining a world where the voice of vehicles is designed, chosen, or contested. The result was a playful yet critical reflection on the evolving soundscape of our cities.
